Firm History

Since the firm’s formation in April 2001, the composition of the firm's shareholders, associates, and other professionals has changed to meet the needs of our clients. The genesis of the law firm began with seven attorneys, five of whom were already practicing together in all aspects of intellectual property law.   The current name of the firm recognizes those five attorneys who shared a vision of excellence in the practice of intellectual property law and sought to establish a firm to make their vision a reality.  The five include Jim Beusse, David Maire, Enrique Mora, Terry Sanks, and Robert Wolter.  Realizing the potential this group of patent attorneys possessed, Jackson Brownlee (now “Of Counsel”), agreed to also be a member of this forming firm, bringing his years of litigation and judicial experience to the group.  Over time, other patent attorneys have joined this dynamic law firm including John DeAngelis and Christine McLeod (now “Of Counsel”) in 2002, Tim Van Dyke in 2004, and Fred Romano in 2006.

Today, the firm continues to expand with the addition of outstanding associates, patent agents, and other professionals to enhance its concentration in intellectual property law and related litigation in the furtherance of our clients’ needs by providing cost-effective results in complicated litigation and all other intellectual property matters.

With a strong foundation of ingenuity and integrity, we strive to provide the same high level of quality service equally to our multi-national corporate clients as we do to our individual inventors.  We look forward to the opportunity to assist you in protecting, enforcing, and defending both your U.S. and international intellectual property rights.
