Firm History Since its formation in April 2001, the composition of the firm's membership and employees has changed to meet the needs of its clients. Seven attorneys, five of whom were already practicing together in all aspects of intellectual property law, originally started the firm. Those five are Jim Beusse, David Maire, Enrique Mora, Terry Sanks, and Robert Wolter. Realizing the potential this group of patent attorneys possessed, Jackson Brownlee agreed to be part of this pending firm, bringing his years of litigation experience to the group, along with another attorney. With the additions of John DeAngelis and Christine McLeod in 2002, the firm expanded its diversity of its shareholders and its electrical and software patent prosecution practice. When Tim Van Dyke joined in 2004, the firm further expanded its patent prosecution capabilities with the addition of Tim Van Dyke's biotechnology patent prosecution practice. In 2006 with Jackson Brownlee retiring and becoming Of Counsel to the firm, Dan Brodersen and Fred Romano joined. With Dan Brodersen's vast litigation experience, the firm's litigation practice is growing. Fred Romano's years of patent prosecution practice has further enhanced the patent prosecution practice of the firm.
